AVRECO Introduces Wage & Hour Defense Coverage
AVRECO is pleased to announce that we can now offer Wage and Hour Defense Only Coverage in addition to our current EPLI product. Wage and Hour coverage is obviously a “hot topic” right now and is a perfect endorsement to our current policy forms.
What is Wage & Hour Coverage?
Wage & Hour Coverage has to do with violation of any federal, state, or local law governing or relating to the payment of wages, including the payment of overtime, on-call time, rest periods, minimum wages, or classification of employees for the purpose of determining employees' eligibility for compensation or other benefits under such laws.
What does the Endorsement Provide?
- $150,000 sub-limit of Defense
- Full Prior Acts
Under 250 Employees/Non-“High Risk”
- Coverage extension provided at no Additional Premium (assuming no previous Wage and Hour claims in the last five years)
250-1,000 Employees/“High Risk”
**“High risk” industries include Technology, Retail, Hospitality (including hotels, restaurants, and casinos), courier services, municipalities and staffing**
- Need to complete a one-page supplemental questionnaire (8 questions)
- Assuming satisfactory underwriting information, the applicant would qualify for the sub-limit for an AP of no more than 10% AP (assuming no previous Wage and Hour claims in the last five years)
At this time the extension of coverage will not be available for applicants with over 1,000 employees or for applicants with California exposure. However, our underwriters expect to have a “Large Risk” and “California” Solution in the very near future.
